By the way, if you haven't been following the "mancow" waterboarding
story, there are now e-mails coming out that it was set up by Jerry
Springer's publicist (who also works for the Chicago radio person).  She
had such interesting to say as, for example: "It is going to have to
look "real" but of course would be simulated with Mancow acting like he
is drowning. It will be a hoax but have to look real. Would be great if
they could dress in fatigues and bring whatever is needed. We will
supply the water."

The guy who GOT waterboarded actually thought it was SUPPOSED to be done
with the nose and mouth uncovered and with the mouth "FORCED OPEN."  He
thought he was SUPPOSED to breath in water, when actually the three
terrorists who were really waterboarded more than six years ago had
their mouths and noses covered to keep them from breathing in water.

As for the guy who DID it, he wrote to one blogger "I know nothing about
waterboarding. I had never done it before, I have no formal training in
it, and I've never had it done to me. The only thing I knew was what I
saw on the internet. I went to waterboarding.org and looked it up. I
just did what I was told - poured the water on his face and that was it.
I'm probably the last person they should have had do it. I didn't know
what I was doing."

It was a publicity gimmick that resulted in national publicity for an
obscure radio shock-jock.  If he had sat there for two minutes ingesting
no water at all, and then said "no big deal," it would have been a
non-story and you would never have heard it.
