Idiots don't make it to the Supreme Court.  Crooks sometimes do
(Fortas), and the mediocre sometimes do (Haynsworth), but not idiots.
Sadly, under Clinton, GW Bush, and now Obama, intellectual heavyweights
don't make it to the Supreme Court either.  Scalia is the only real
heavyweight currently on the court, which is sad given that there were
usually three and sometimes four (of various ideological leanings) for
much of the 20th century.  The fault lies with Ted Kennedy.
