Peter, at 12:34 on Jul 23 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

Quite right too, I forgot that they've changed their S-registers with the
DSVD models. The above relates to prior 20.16MHz versions of the
Sportster.

PR> Perhaps Iam missing the point or has the command set changed in the latest

No, you're quite right.

The Couriers (and earlier Sportsters) use the following...

S27 Bit Mapped
      1 = V21 Mode
      2 = Disable TCM
      4 = Disable V32
      8 = Disable 2100hz
     16 = Disable MNP Handshake
     32 = Disable V.42
     48 = Disable V.42 Detect Phase
     64 = Reserved
    128 = Unusual SW-Incompatibility

Therefore, according to the following command set, to force MNP4/MNP5, I
suspect he'd need to use AT&F1&K1S15=128 on the Dynalink.

S15 Bit Mapped
      1 = MNP/V.42 Disabled in V.22
      2 = MNP/V.42 Disabled in V.22bis
      4 = MNP/V.42 Disabled in V.32
      8 = Disable MNP Handshake
     16 = Disable MNP Level 4
     32 = Disable MNP Level 3
     64 = Unusual MNP-Incompatibility
    128 = Disable V.42
    136 = Disable V.42 Detect Phase

Nice of USR to confuse the issue, I don't think.

Regards, Bill
