I don't see the problem with it as long as it's optional. Sort of like on
star trek where they could always ask the computer "where is the
captain" and as long as he had his communication badge with him the
computer would tell them where he way. If he didn't want to be tracked he
would just take the badge off. Something like that would be awesome because
it's just another choice.

Forced tracking would be big brother. Think of optional tracking like GPS,
it could be very useful at times.
