Replying to a message of Bob Klahn to Ross Cassell: RC>> peace. The fact that the city was asking for permit fees RC>> implies that there was no disturbing the peace going on and RC>> there is no permit which allows one to disturb the peace. BK> Well, actually, there are. Either entertainment or parades can BK> disturb the peace. Tell me about it. Especially when one works nights and is trying to sleep... and has to get up and try to get the h*ll out of a city that has narrow streets clogged with hundreds of extra vehicles and people, plus traffic re-routings, in order to get to work. Fortunately that only happened once a year when I lived in Plattsmouth. And note that on several occasions I had people I didn't know park in my *back* yard (access off the public alley) without permission - and I couldn't get them either ticketed (police couldn't be bothered, plus it would be bad PR for the carnival/parade) or towed (towing company's trucks were in the parade). --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 SEEN-BY: 2320/105 5030/1256 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
