They're mounted right where the factory AM/FM antenna was mounted. They
are cut for specific frequency(s) to transmit, and have a coupler to run
coax to appropriate radio(s) and the car stereo. When connected properly
they work very well. That's what most "G" cars and many undercover
municipal squad cars use. And, they look exactly like the factory
broadcast whip originally installed at the factory.
