I probably misstated what I meant. What I was trying to say is that,
IMHO, law enforcement is not above the law. I feel that most of the
abuses are on the federal level, but the thought applies all the way
down the line. If a drug bust is attempted and the wrong house is
busted and someone gets killed, I damn well don't think that law
enforcement should have the ability to just walk away from it, saying
excuse me, we're sorry.
BTW, if I am involved in a shootout, I am not there for my personal
interests, either. :^)
