they may have been exe packed or some such... i've had to use UNP in many
cases to unpack exe files to locate the proper strings for
""hacking""...

NOTE: that the above is also valid only for the traditional DOS type
stuffings... no winwhatever natives or OS/2 natives qualify... things are
much different with them...
