HM> Symbol rate = 3200 HM> The bandwidth and echo aren't too good, I got up to 3825Hz and 1ms to my HM> university, which is in the city (20km) while Paul is out this side of HM> town, quite a bit closer. BG> Dunno, I'd be very interested to see how a Courier performs BG> from your site. With those levels and bandwidth, you BG> should be seeing a 3429 symbol rate. HM> Unfortunately those stats don't seem to include the connect speed, which HM> was 31200 RX / 26400 TX. Haven't had 33.6 yet. BG> And with 3200 symbol rate, you won't see 33k6 anyway, as BG> that requires the 3429 symbol rate. 3:640/305 is a good BG> test, as Dave can just about spit on his exchange from his BG> back door, and even with my poor lines, I'm getting 33k6 BG> connects with his Courier (usually 33600/31200). Supra will not connect to Courier at 33.6 according to Supra Echo contributor: If the calling modem is a USR Courier then the Symbol rate of 3429 is obtained and a 33600 connect is possible. BUT if the Supra is the Calling modem then the USR defaults to 3200 Symbol rate and the maximum speed is 31200. I think USR does know this (or they will soon) and hopefully we should see a .SDL flash update for them though they could be waiting for the ITU to approve the V34+ first before doing anything.. I have about 5 Courier around me here (within 10 miles) all connect with the 3429 rate to me but when I connct to them I get a 3200 rate. If the USR disables the 3200 rate then it is possible to get a 3429 rate connect, but this 3200 rate is probably the most common used rate and is needed for modems that don't support the 3429 rate (yet) There is no way of getting a higher rate until USR sort there problem out. ...
