Wait until all the US DNS servers drop .fr and replace it with
.cheeseeatingsurrendermonkeys.

More seriously, how about countries whose names change, or are newly
created. If the US doesn't recognise them then they don't get their own
domain, and that's not a decision which should be left to a single foreign
nation.
