Attention ALL:
Jack Sargeant has sent my Sysop a note saying that, because of messages
I sent on ANOTHER conference, NoPiracy, Jack is banning me from this
conference.
Also note that Jack is ignoring the fact that the Sysop of NoPiracy has
installed an 'All topics allowed' rule for this month, and Jack simply
didn't like what he read in that other echo.
No, I did not break any rules in this conference, but that is not
material to Jack. Jack has a longstanding history (saved and archived)
of throwing people off this echo merely because they 'piss [him] off.'
Unfortunately, Jack reacted harshly and foolishly to my crossposts on
this other echo, choosing to demonstrate once and for all his
im-moderation in this echo.
One does not have to look far beyond his flaming of me in Meta-UFO
(actually reposting a __years-old__ flame posted by someone else) within
days of becoming moderator of that echo -- and the immediate uproar
that resulted in his having to hand back that echo -- to see that Jack
is unfortunately only acting in character.
What is Jack's reason for dropping me in this conference? Here's what he
told my Sysop:
JS > Although Sheppard's treatment of me and my users is
JS > condescending and overly aggressive according to my
JS > echo rules, he has taken to posting dozens of ad
JS > hominem messages of a personal attack on me in other
  JS > echoes.
The first part of the sentence is a lie, since I have never been
moderated for ANY post since I've been in this echo the last few days.
As for the latter part, I cross-posted replied to Jack in SKEPTIC that
Jack never answered. In fact, he ran away from those messages, and I
posted the crossposts quite legally under the rules of the NOPIRACY
echo.
JS > Normally, what transpires in other echoes would not be
JS > a factor, but Sheppard's only purpose in UFO is to be
  JS > sarcastic and unfriendly.
Suddenly, "unfriendly" and "sarcastic" _crossposts_ and posts on OTHER
ECHOES are sufficient to cause Jack to banish people from __this
echo??__
Funny, I don't remember this in the ever-adjusted rules that Jack posts.
JS > To cite examples, I ask you to take a look at the
JS > NOPIRACY echo, of which I am Co-Moderator.
  JS >
JS > Please accept this note as a formal request for his
  JS > banishment.
In other words, we see Jack banishing me in this echo because he wants
to punish me for posting legal messages on another echo.
Think about that.
Moreover, if anyone wants to have a free, unfettered discussion about
UFOs, without the possibility that the moderator will toss them out for
'pissing him off,' feel free to check out the SKEPTIC conference.
  Salut!
