AP>BN> AP>What is TAS?
AP>BN> :) The Animated Series.
AP>When did they make it?
BN> Back in the mid-'70s.
AP>Who was in it?
BN> A number of the original cast as voices -- don't recall which,
BN> exactly, since some of them did more than one (for new characters
BN> in addition to their old ones).
Shatner as Kirk, Nimoy as Spock, Kelley as McCoy, Doohan as Scotty, Majel
Barrett as Nurse Chapel and a new crewmember (and did the computer speak in
TAS? I can't remember).
New crew included a red-skinned alien navigator, a cat-like alien (voice by
Majel Barrett), and an Amerind ensign whose name I've thankfully forgotten.
AP>How does it fit into the Trek Time Span?
BN> Well, unlike Owen, I at least admit it exists . At
BN> that point the only trek there was, was TOS -- it's usually
BN> considered the completion of the original E's 5-year mission.
Officially, according to the makers of _Star Trek_, it's not part of the core
canon (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY). On the other hand, surely that's a decision for
the audience to make?
TAS episodes appear on the Trek chronology that occasionally gets posted to
these echoes, where they are mixed freely with TOS episodes (apparently on
the basis of stardates, as the impression one gets otherwise is that TAS
comes after TOS).
