RL> Not at all... a bass player needs three to six times the power the the

       Well, I dunno... He's got a 4x10 and a 1x15 running 400 watts. He
blows my amp away and I'm going at 94 RMS. I can get it loud enough, but in
my basement it's painful to have that much treble (and I have the treble
rolled off).
Besides, didn't you give some methods of lowering the B+, which, I
assume, would also lower the wattage somewhat? I'm sure that the 4x12 I'm
eventually going to get will add to the loudness.
Also, I have two main uses for (the soon to be) my Dual Showman:
1) Pure, sweet, gentle, vintage Fender tone
2) We're going to start playing VFW and American Legion hall shows with other
bands by the summer, so I'm going to need decent power, especially if I
sit in with the other bands, which tend to be loud.
Another thing is that I want that "more balls" sound. After all, on my
own, I play A LOT of Floyd stuff, and Dave Gilmour plays 100 watt Hi-Watts
(ultra clean and ballsy).
