Well... It's not that much of a `story'. {GRIN!} We happen to
live out in the country on a farm. We also happen to be `soft touches' when
it comes to `domestic?' animals. To top it off, it seems that `city folk'
have this belief that if they abandon an animal out on a farm that the farmer
will automagically take it in and take care of it. (Note to `city folk':
This is definitely *not* true! There are very few of us who actually have
anything *approaching* the where with all to even begin to attempt anything
like this! *Please* try and find a good `no kill' shelter *if* you have to
give up your pet and cannot find some other kind person to take care of
them!) Anyway... Three of our `B.E.A.S.T.s' (Biological Evolutionary Animal
Simulation Test) are `pity kitties' in that we actually were able to get them
to accept us and *not* go feral. The other three we chose (Actually *they*
chose us!) from a local `no kill' shelter. They along with the three dogs
are our much loved companions, partners and valued family members. My wife,
two children, and I wouldn't know what to do without them around.

Location:
On a 100 acre farm out on the North central plains of
Colorado approximately 40 miles North of Denver.
We raise hay and pasture horses. Cheryl does `craft' work like
quilting and making stuffed animals along with Sci-Fi and Fantasy art. I run
a multi-line TBBS BBS, build or repair the occasional computer, restore
`antique?' Hi-Fi equipment, and collect '63 Falcons. We have also been known
to help put together the occasional Space, Science, Communications, Science
Fiction CONvention and Art Show. With all that going on we would probably go
nuts if we didn't have our `kitties' and `puppies' to soothe and help us.
Anyway... Now it may be apparent why I *usually* just `lurk' here.
{GRIN, DUCK, & RUN!) We live a fairly `full?' life.
