DS> As you know, my wife Janice, who is a type 1 diabetic...recently
DS>obtained a copy of the One Touch Software from Lifescan (I think it's
DS>www.lifescan.org -- not sure)...and she uses that to store her
DS>readings. The thing is...the software is like 30 Megabytes, and you
DS>either have to obtain it via a high speed Internet connection, or
DS>have a friend do it, and burn a CD for you. You could purchase it,
DS>and purchase either a serial or USB cable required for it, depending
DS>on your setup...the software is more expensive than the cable!! But,
DS>the program is relatively easy to work with once it is set up.

To keep a record of your readings on the computer, if you have Excel or
Word you can use that. For that matter even Notepad will do. You just
need two entries each day: Date and Reading. So if you use Notepad for
example, typical entries would look like:

11/20/04 121
11/21/04 126
11/22/04 129

If you want to keep a record of what you ate that day, simply add it to
the right of the reading.

With Word you can get a little fancy and make a two-column table.
With Excel you can set up one worksheet to represent the whole year.

Try it ... you'll find it works :)) No need for a 30Mb program to do
it.
