Yea, I wondered about that too.  In past appearances on Letterman, the
discussion was far less "contentious", or "combative". 
Shelley and I were watching just prior to going to sleep, and we both
wondered if the whole thing wasn't a staged
"positioning"/"scripted" conversation....
