... MM> If I did run for congress, my philosophy will be very MM> anti-establishment. 1) I am not going to be the servant boy MM> for the rich, NO zero percent corporate taxes, 15%, with a MM> minimum 5 percent effective tax 2) We have to pare back our MM> military (we can't afford it), 3) social issues like MM> opposition equal marriage or abolition of abortion do not MM> create jobs, all they are is to create rage and loyalty to MM> the party to distract people from what they have not done MM> for us. Go to: http://snipurl.com/nytfixthebudget Do the interactive balance the budget widget. Come back and tell us how you did. I did it a couple times. I balanced the budget with no cuts at all, just revenue increases. That was just to see if it could be done. In my 'for real' balancing I cut nothing at all from the elderly and medical care. Cut only from the military on things I think should be cut even if the budget was already balanced, and went for the lower level of tax increases. BTW, the ones I went for were the ones I thought should be done whether there is a defict or not, and I still balanced the budget. All the options are current or recent proposals, and all the numbers come from the CBO. You can find my solution at snipurl.com/mysolution There are quite a few I do not agree with all the way, so I chose the one that best fit what I wanted. On the national sales tax, I am actually against it, but I had to put that in to balance the budget in the second chart, for 2030. I don't really believe it was necessary, but it was as close as I could come. My preference is for that sales tax to replace the payroll taxes for social security and medicare.
