Hi, Kurt- KW> There's a LOT to be said for running a modern OS and using VMs to support KW> older OSes. I've got DOS, Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 running at home in KW> VMWare, and when I'm done with them I can close down the VM and be done KW> with KW> it until the next time. No more old hardware waiting in the garage in KW> case I KW> wanted to try an old OS... OS/2 can be a bitch to get working properly in a VM. It requires some odd CPU calls that some VMs don't support and in some cases, it requires hardware acceleration that some modern computers can't support properly in a VM. I'm not an expert in this, of course, but I've enough experience to not be bothered. If I was going to use a VM, it'd be XP under Linux. However, I have had XP and Linux running under OS/2 which tweaked some of my friends' minds. ;) Again, like I told Matt, if you were going to try to run OS/2 on modern equipment, I would take a look at eComStation since it's being actively developed and run on more modern equipment. As for the old equipment, well, I can head down to Atlanta and buy a pallet full of P4 machines for under $100 so if I need parts, no big deal. :) Then again, people keep giving me their old computers so I am generally not wanting for parts very often!
