This seems like a VERY good reason to choose a specialty unit
(ie. one designed for indash auto mounting) over a unit that's
designed primarily for use on a tabletop. It would seem to be
common sense that the mfgr of such a unit would take GREAT pains
to reduce the affects of the ignition and charging system noise
with specifically designed filters and circuitry.
I just got off the phone with the Philips people a bit earlier,
and I'm waiting to hear back from them in regards to a new model
they are in the planning stages on. There seems to be an increased
interest in SW reception in vehicles. I'll keep ya'll posted as to
what I hear back.
'Til next time,
Bruce
