subject: Locking the Comm Port

DC> Depends on your system, uart and software. If one of
 DC> these components can't handle high-speed (56k or 115k)
DC> then you are better off where you are. IBMs com driver
DC> in Warp3 will not speak at 115k. Nor will most of IBMs
DC> IP Dialers. SIO can handle 115 locked rates, and InJoy
DC> can deal quite nicely with high speed transfers and
DC> settings. I have 6 ports on a single IRQ all locked at
DC> 115200, one is used by InJoy for the internet, the rest are for the BBS.
I have SIO. For some reason I can't get a true connection with the ISP when
the port is locked at anything above 38400.
I'm running a Dell Dimension P75, 24 MB RAM.
