Activist to challenge Brison for Liberal nomination

Canadian Press

Kentville, N.S. A community activist believes it would be good for Scott
Brison to face some competition in his own riding. Sonja Wood confirmed
Monday she will challenge the newly converted Liberal for the party's
nomination in the riding of Kings Hants.

Prime Minister Paul Martin is expected to call an election this spring.

Mr. Brison recently jumped ship from the federal Progressive Conservatives
after they merged with the Canadian Alliance. Ms. Wood has tried and failed
in the past to win the riding's Liberal nomination. She is well known in
the area for her crusade to get Highway 101 twinned.

Claude O'Hara, who ran for the Liberals in the last election, has already
said he will not challenge Brison.
