For those of you who pray, please keep MEMORIES moderator Joe
Mackey in your thoughts and prayers. He emailed me the other day,
disclosing that he has stage 4 lung cancer, and the doctors only
give him from 6 weeks to 6 months to live.
 
  I was originally going to wait until I heard further from him,
but decided to go ahead and get the word out now. Joe has the
same cancer that killed my grandmother nearly 30 years ago...
and I doubt that any family has escaped that scourge.
 
  As for what this means for the future of the MEMORIES echo, I
don't know...but if I can get the needed info for the echo, and
Joe's permission, I may see if I can take it over. The echo has
such as rich history, and we've lost so many of its former
members to illness or other reasons. Former valued member, the
late Nancy Backus, was a fixture in here, and so many other
echoes...and she is sorely missed.
