| subject: | M34F and Terminate 3.00 |
- Replying to a message between Sam Benson to All on 23 Apr 96, 08:27 SB> 2. I'm getting a lot of CRC download errors (though this is not SB> specifically Terminate / the modems problem). I would guess this is most likely because you don't have a high speed serial port (with a 16550 UART). Assuming you're running DOS (not Win 95 or OS/2) and have Windows 3.x installed, exit to dos and type 'MSD' which will load the Microsoft Diagnostics program and press 'c' for com ports. You should find that the screen displays something like this: ³ COM1: COM2: COM3: ³ ----- ----- ----- ³ Port Address 03F8H 02F8H 03E8H ³ Baud Rate 2400 38400 2400 ~ ³ UART Chip Used 16550AF 16550AF 16550AF If you have anything less than a 16550 UART, this is most likely the cause of your CRC download errors. You can pick up a serial card at most computer stores for around $30 - $40. regards, stuart ---* Origin: Newbiehood is not a period of time, it's a way of lif (3:635/727.17) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 621/525 624/300 632/329 536 635/503 544 727 SEEN-BY: 711/409 413 430 808 809 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 SEEN-BY: 7877/2809 @PATH: 635/727 544 50/99 711/808 809 934 |
