It does sound like a disease. I don't know for sure but it
sounds most like bacterial blight according to my book. It
suggests avoiding overhead watering and says copper is a good
fungicide to use to control it. As for getting beans, I imagine
it depends on how close the plants are to producing. Many
diseases are weather related and sometimes hard to do much about
if the weather is against you. Hopefully someone else has a
better idea to help you. Good luck on getting some beans. I
didn't get mine planted this spring.....maybe get some in my
fall garden.
