TD> you don't announce "Releasing titles for the competition" in
TD> one breath, and announce "programmer layoffs" in the next.
RR> How many times do you have to read it: ATARI DID NOT LAY OFF
RR> ALL THEIR PROGRAMMERS.
Who said anything about "all"?
Rodney, you are getting every bit as exasperated as the the "rumor
mongers" you seek to expose. You are going to as much the right as they
are to the left.
Basically, Atari Corp is not in good health. They announced poor sales,
which resulted in a dramatic drop in their stock price; restricted their
Xmas Advertising campaign to one or two circulars, a late night cable
contest, and rare repeats of a single odd commercial that showed none of
their software; laid of a number of programers, and cut the price of
their sole mainstay by 33%.
Atari may be "alive", but not "well". -*- Tom -*-
