Yes - I used them on old silver saxophones, haven't tried them on silver
coatings yet (although I will in about a week when I get a shipment of
silvering chemicals!) The strips work really well keeping silver coatings
on saxes clean, I would put one in a case and the sax would stay clean for
three or four months before starting to dim. I'll be trying the strips in a
cover for my 8" scope as soon as I coat the mirror. I've been waiting
for decent weather since I can't do it in the house and I don't think
freezing temperatures are good for silvering :)

I was reading in ATM 3 that lacquar (sp?) could be used to cover the silver
coat, anyone try this? I'll experiment with a control since I have a few
mirrors that need coatings.

Note: I was going to order a kit from Peakcock, total cost for 1 pint of
solution was $183USD - pretty steep but would do quite a few mirrors. Alas,
the SHIPPING was $150USD!!! $40USD a box from Fedex plus shipping charges
for hazardous materials. Too steep for me, I ordered $150CDN worth of
chemicals from a local supply house to do it the old fashioned way...

Regards,
   Gord
