Hey Russell!

Wow! X is definetly worth compiling. Same with the xine although I noticed it
suffers from the same misconception about cflags as some other apps and libs and
I didn't feel like doing anything about it at the moment. I figure on writing a
perl script in the near future to scan all makefiles for unwanted flags and
replace them is overdue. However I am still in experimental mode as far as
dependancies are concerned and thus haven't bothered ... yet. For sure
everything is in sync with the tv card so I am more or less happy with that and
am going to see if I can get fbtv to cooperate with this scheme. I still prefer
xawtv as far as handling vt switching on a framebuffered console. fbxine is nice
as well as mplayer with the '-vo mga' switch. Could be better. Needs work.

Anyhow good stuff happening.

No gtk either!!! :-)

Life is good,
Maurice
