Hello, Charles.
Replying to a message of Charles Scaglione to Sean Dennis:
CS> You can purchase a multiple license version of XP Pro or if you have a
CS> MSN subscription - either way - no activation is required. However,
CS> both purchases are expensive.
As you and I both know, there's plenty of ways around it. I'm not
condoning piracy here, but I've seen on many a website programs and ways to
circumvent it. Personally, I've used XP and think it's the worst piece of
crap to come out of MS since its inception. I have W2K Professional here
for my Windows development.
CS> Also - many OEMs (Dell, Gateway, Compaq, HP, etc.) pre-install XP Home
CS> and Pro and use a BIOS locking scheme. With that method no
CS> activation is required, however, the OS can not be moved to another
CS> type of machine.
Luckily, I got my HP before Microsoft became Big Brother...
...but then again, that's why I use OS/2. ;)
Later,
Sean
