         At one point there was talk of Sam Elliott playing Travis
    McGee.  Dunno why, but I like that idea.  He has sort that beat-up
    look that MacDonald uses in his description of Trav & the sort of
    smile that I'd guess McGee to have.  The really tough casting for
    me would be finding just the right actor to play Meyer.
