Sharon, how it works is there's Fox Network (the large company) that owns a
few large-market television stations, but provides programming to local,
smaller stations across the country. they are known as Affiliates, as opposed
to the "Owned and Operateds" (O&O's). That's what a network
is, a banding
together of small stations for nutual gain. Newscorp, which owns Fox among
many other things (like mewpapers,and broadcastin companies here and in Europe
and Australia) is a giant Empire, well diversified.
