>>> The Simpsons rule! MR>> heheheheh! I know yer a big fan, Dan... More power to you. It's MR>> weird up here in Rochester, but the FOX station ( and I don't MR>> know how they can do this ) Joined together with the CBS station MR>> as they are in financial trouble. I can understand FOX bein MR>> considered the smaller of the networks, but I can't see how they MR>> can be in financial trouble. SC> I thought Fox was a pretty big network about now. I don't have cable SC> tv, but we have a Fox 8 and a local Fox 53 that I can watch with an SC> attenna. So they own those 2 stations along with the Fox News on SC> cable. Sounds pretty good to me. Sharon, how it works is there's Fox Network (the large company) that owns a few large-market television stations, but provides programming to local, smaller stations across the country. they are known as Affiliates, as opposed to the "Owned and Operateds" (O&O's). That's what a network is, a banding together of small stations for nutual gain. Newscorp, which owns Fox among many other things (like mewpapers, and broadcastin companies here and in Europe and Australia) is a giant Empire, well diversified. ---* Origin: Ray's Rocket Shop - Out to Launch (1:3613/48) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3613/48 1275 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
