My dad lived on a river bank and owned three boats to fetch the fish he
would catch on set lines, all up and down that river. When he retired,
he and mom moved into a 3 story house in town and all he did was sit on
the porch and watch traffic go by, AM and PM ... inbetween that time, he'd
spend down at the railroad tracks taking videos of the trains as they
passed by. Fishing was the last thing on his mind then, but I suspect that
fishing the river was to take the stress of daily work off his mind. I
always figured that whatever floats your boat and makes you happy is what
you should be doing.
