Mark if I had really wanted to play guilt by association I'd have =
mentioned David Duke , but I don't consider him to be anywhere
close = to the Mainstream of the Republicans. Robertson has been active in
the = Republican Party for years. Far more than Chavez who to my knowledge
is = not a registered democrat . of course remember the Republican
talk = about Michael Moore - Who is not a registered democrat and has never
= been active in the Democratic party. Talk about Guilt by Association =
.
Why do you have a problem with Politicians trying to get cheaper oil for =
their constituents ?=20

C'mon Bob, I have no doubt that Robertson supports Republican =
positions, that fact doesn't make those he supports responsible for =
anything he says. I'm sure that Chavez down Venezuela way supports Dem =
positions, but that doesn't mean they should answer for him (even if = some
feckless Dem politicians in MA are bargaining with him for cheap = oil).=20
That's guilt by association with a real wide berth at that, same as =
the hapless, has-been, Sen. Kennedy was trying to equate to Alito with =
his lame recitation of a decades old article (that turned out to be =
satire at that) in a magazine that Alito never received, never read, and =
never contributed to.

I have no reason to defend him. Reading the article that Gary posted =
I did not find it to as described as I stated.
Robertson has had long standing ties and has supported the =
Republican Party. I have to think that he approves of a lot of the =
Republican positions.

He's never won anything as far as I know (rightfully so) and I =
think the left's characterization of his influence on anyone at all is =
way overblown -- I've not heard anyone laud him in at least a decade for =
anything, rather they want to distance themselves from him (also =
rightfully so).
Now, this Nagin video may be out of context (from the point of =
view of his whole speech), but I'll leave it to you to defend his =
"chocolate" comments, because I sure can't find any sympathy for
him:
