* Forwarded from "CHILD_ABUSE_ISSUES"
From a source I consider reliable comes this information:
1). When last we had heard, both the Governor and House Speaker of the State
of Washington had requested that the Department of Justice look into the
Wenatchee matter. The Reno led Department found "no evidence" of any abuses
on the part of Detective Perez or the Prosecutor.
Critics suggest that Reno's active role in prosecuting child abuse cases,
more than one of which was ultimately determined to be unfounded, may have
served to unduly bias her in this direction. This arguement is not entirely
without merit, in that it has been reported that one Department of Justice
Investigator has offered his services free of charge, in support of the
accused in the Wenatchee case.
I'm looking for newspaper articles that will provide more information, and
will likely have a follow-up to this report in a few days.
2). KREM-TV Reporter Tom Grant, long time critic of the goings on in
Wenatchee, has found himself added to the list of those accused of the abuse
of the foster-child of Detective Perez. It has been reported that Dean Tong,
author of "Don't Blame ME, Daddy," warned him that such an accusation was an
inevitability, given his high profile coverage of these events.
More on this and other developments in the case is forthcoming.
