That RAM is used as a track buffer for reading and writing 3.5" disks.
If memory serves, it's 2KB, and was more than likely SRAM.

I'm afraid I don't have any IIc documentation past the UniDisk 3.5"
ROM. However, I suspect if you figure out the real boundaries on that
RAM range it should work fine, assuming you've correctly implemented
the IWM to support 3.5" disks... A lot of trouble to go to IMO ...
