JD> KG> As Harry Callahan, Eastwood used an LAW in the Dirty Harry flick
JD> KG> where Tyne Daily was his partner--can't recall the name of movie.
JD> KG> Callahan yanks Tyne Daily from behind the LAW seconds before it's
JD> KG> fired on an Army firing range.
JD>Dirty Harry #3. "The Enforcer". In real life, I would have thought that
he
JD>Sgt. demonstrating the thing would have kept better track of all those
umb
JD>civilians on his range.......
JD>Luckily, I don't go to/rent movies for reality; just entertainment, for
whic
JD>certain 'suspension of disbelief' is required.
JD>For instance, I just saw "Dusk til Dawn" last week. George Clooney's
charact
JD>(Gordon Gecco; I thought that naming an Oklahoma bank robber who hides out
i
JD>Texas and Mexico after a lizard was a droll concept) carries a large
.44?)
JD>frame revolver; throughout the film he keeps reloading from speedloaders
fro
JD>his jacket pockets. While I never noticed him shooting more then 6 between
JD>reloads (but I wasn't really watching/counting very closely), there WAS a
LO
JD>shooting in the movie. The thought crossed my mind that if you really
carrie
JD>that much ammo in real life, your sport coat wouldn't drape anywhere near
as
JD>nicely as his did! ;-)
Me, I figure my 1927 Argentine .45 with two spare 8-round magazines will
do nicely.
There's another Clint Eastwood movie (the name escapes me at the moment)
where Clint keeps reloading a Remington cap-and-ball revolver with
pre-loaded and capped cylinders. I kept waiting for him to drop one. :-)
