In playback mode, Ferric is 120 uS Eq and all other positions are 70 uS.  
For record, that Eq change is coupled with bias levels that approximate 
matching the magnetic properties of various tapes.  Each magnetic media has 
some bias level that optimizes maximum output level at various levels and 
frequencies, noise traits, distortion, and high end frequency response.  
Proper bias is not just a matter of a button, but matching specific tapes.  
That's why simpler decks are best aligned for the tape you use internally, 
while fancier ones have a fine bias adjustment on the front panel.
