There's a small, mostly ignored but IMHO very sensible group of
commentators who interpret what's going on in the Islamic world as
primarily internal, a cultural "civil war," with the
much-trumpeted AQ-vs-the-West as one faction's way of playing to the home
crowd. Of course, that's absurd because it would imply the Middle Ki-- I
mean, the US isn't the center of everything.
