| subject: | Win XP stuck in Setup Loop |
I recently had a situation where I had to run the "repair" option from the Windows XP CD. Now my PC is in a "loading setup" loop. If I boot from the CD and use the "repair console" option (where I "log into" a command prompt), is there a file I can edit or delete that will tell XP to stop trying to run setup? If the answer is edit, does XP or the repair console have a command-line editor? Been so long since I've needed one, I've forgotten! Thanks! ##MMR 2.61(beta). --- GTMail 1.26* Origin: Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 * cco.ath.cx (1:2320/105.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 10/1 11/200 331 14/250 400 18/200 34/999 53/558 120/228 123/500 SEEN-BY: 128/2 187 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 SEEN-BY: 261/1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 393/68 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/104 260 267 640/954 690/682 734 712/0 313 848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 303 5030/1256 @PATH: 2320/105 261/38 633/260 712/848 633/267 |
