 These are new rules, and subject to change or modification when deemed 
necessary. Paragraphs 3 and 10 contain new additions.
 The UFO echo is dedicated to serious discussion of the UFO phenomenon.
 1) Discuss UFOs. This is Rule Number One. This is not the forum of
 discussion of religion, Space Brothers/channeling, time travel, out of
 body experiences, New Age topics, and what not. However, the discussion
 of any topic is admissible if it DIRECTLY relates to the UFO phenomenon.
 A new area, POSTCARD, is a thread for your brief off-topic needs such
 as exchanging e-mail addresses, etc. It is not to be used for lengthy
 discussion of non-UFO related topics. The rules for POSTCARD are
 posted independently on a regular basis. Basically, you must contain
 your message in POSTCARD to one screenful, including quoted material.
 A UFO is defined specifically as an Unidentified Flying Object, and
 should not be taken to mean anything else.
 2) If you do not accept the existence of the UFO phenomenon, please
 extend us the common courtesy of letting us discuss what we want to
 discuss.  Of course, if you are new to the topic and want to learn
 more, by all means participate. Participants in this echo on _all_
 sides of the issues agree that UFO phenomena is worthy of serious,
 substantive discussion. - If you do not agree, please do not use this
 echo.
 3) a: Flaming is not allowed at _any_ time. No baiting. Keep it honest
 and above board. Be courteous at all times. Snideness, condescending
 mannerisms, and in-your-face confrontations are not permitted. If you
 are going to debate someone, be polite and tactful. If you become
 abusive, you are losing the argument. The moderators will assist you
 in these matters when necessary. If you feel this is too restrictive
 to your style, don't post here.
 b: Messages written in other echoes about UFO echo participants or
 moderators may be cause to suspend your writing privileges in UFO.
 c: Your gripes with participants or moderators of other echoes is
 off-topic in UFO.
 4) Moderator Rules, Guidelines, policies, and actions are NOT to be
 discussed on the open echo.  Doing so may be grounds for a 30-day
 suspension from the Conference.  The Moderators will be more than
 happy to listen to any comments or complaints you may have, but such
 discussion *must* be in NetMail or E-mail. There will be NO exceptions
 to this rule.  No access to netmail or E-mail is *not* considered a
 valid excuse.
 5). Leave the Moderating to the Moderators.
 6). You are required to use your real name on this conference. You may
 use a handle, provided your real name is stated in the message, but
 your real name is REQUIRED in the message.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
 7). Language: English only. No profanity.
 8). Quoting is required. Please keep the quoted material to a minimum,
 just enough to remind everyone of the thread you're discussing. It's
 not necessary to quote an entire message for a _few_ lines of reply.
 *** There should be no quoting of Tear lines, Tag lines or ORIGIN lines
 in replies.
 9).  For you debunkers who drop in, please have your evidence and
      references ready. You'll be held to the same standards as
      "true believers."  A simple assertion is not good enough.
 10). The following words or terminologies are forbidden...
      Skeptibunker
      FTB (Foaming True Believer)
      X-tian (Use Christian)
      In general, refrain from using words that would be shocking
      at your dinner table.
