      he did indeed and I apologized to him for my misunderstandings.
I spent a good part of the last year talking with individuals deeply
involved with Archie Lowe's faction of the Republic of Texas movement.
While we differed quite a bit on our philosophical outlooks, there was
enough common ground most of the time to share ideas and information.
      The flag protocol information I had came from conversations with
others during this period I think, and while I did discover many
interesting new facts from some of these fellows, I also had to very
carefully screen them for errors.  This one, I'm afraid, got by me.
      I am prone, on occasion, to more readily accept things that
appeal to my preconceptions and in this case I guess that tendency got
the best of me.  It sounded good and had been told to me by several
individuals so I just made the false assumption that it was true.  
      I will try to do a better job of checking my facts in the future.
