What a jerk! I would have asked him to key his mike to prove that it didn't
have the crystal in it.
I was asked politely so I did. If it had been an order, that would have been
a different story. If there is no law against it they can't tell you to turn
it off. I was quite surprised that an Ohio Trooper would ask it, but I have
never had a Kentucky cop say a word to me.
I would bet that my fire dept window sticker gets me looked over in KY. They
wouldn't want the publicity most likely. I have my county fire and police
frequencies and the neighboring county for mutual aid runs, so I doubt they
would have a legitimate gripe.
