BD> What are edit files? Do you mean your document files?
Suppose so -- I have created a directory directly underneath MSOFFICE
called rdsdata and then underneath that have one directory for excel
and another for winword. That way, I can just back them up instead of
the entire msoffice\winword\... structure.
BD> Try this.
BD> 1. Go to winword\startup and remove all files to a hold directory.
There was one file there, called present.dot. No idea what was in it
or where it came from.
BD> 2. Find all copies of normal.dot and move them to a hold directory.
One copy, in msoffice\winword\template.
BD> 3. Start Word.
Error message disappeared. When I closed, it recreated normal.dot -- a
little bit smaller than the old one was.
Now -- tell me what was going on and why. I only recently started
running msoffice (used to use WP5.2 -- but people I work with are doing
msoffice so I switched to make it easier to exchange.) I don't yet
know a lot of the inner workings of how it is doing things.
