-> EH> KEEP THE WATER OFF THE CONDENSER COILS!
-> That's a given.
Okay, you're way ahead of me.
-> That's the whole idea...to cool the air through evap like a swamp
-> cooler. The condenser coil would. by gesign. remain dry.
To get any evaporation I had to spray the water directly ON the coils.
Bad news! Swamp coolers don't DO anything around here.
-> Jeeze, that's a whole bunch of A/C--twice as big as mine, and my 4
-> tonner is nearly double what I need for my place. Must be runnin
-> about 60 Amps continuous. That'd certainly make the meter spin..
Indeed it do! This house was built in 1914 or 15 and was NOT designed
to be airconditioned, and when the central air was added in the
50's-60's electricity was dirt cheap! When I moved here 25+ years ago
you could run that big honker for forty bucks a month!
EER 11 window units in the bedrooms are what we use now. If I had a
natural gas line handy, I'd have iceicles hanging off the chandeliers
and electricity to burn! There used to be Servel-Cycle gas A/C's all
over the place down here because Nat gas was free! (Then we found out
you could SELL it to the Yankees!)
