Because he is damaging the UPS, not helping it.  UPSes are NOT DESIGNED TO
BE CONSTANTLY TURNED OFF (emphasis, not yelling).  They are designed to be
left on for the entirety of their useful life.  If one can't understand the
reasoning and use of an UPS, perhaps you shouldn't be using one and wasting
your money.
