Howdy! Tom,

IIRC Radio Shack sold a A.C. Power Strip that applied power to the
other outlets on it when it noticed what was plugged into one of the
sockets got turned on.

The Outlets in my room are covered by furniture, so I use the Switch on
a regular Power Strip (No surge protection on it) to apply power to a
Tripp-Lite Isobar box that the Printer/AIO is plugged in to.

I have the Power Strip on the floor in front of the stuff blocking the
A.C. Outlet so I can turn the switch on when I need to.

I figure the Printer/AIO doesn't need to be connected to the UPS since
I have it turned Off most of the time.

I will try to remember to have the Printer/AIO turned On before I 
turn my XP box On, after I have completely shut it down the last time I
used it.
