Not really at that mark. We mostly lost guys about the 6-7 mark. I hated
it. It was done really badly. For officers only based on whether you were
a USN or USNR. That way the administration could claim there was no
Reduction in Force (RIF). Although if you are a USNR who is told his
services are no longer needed, it feels alot like a RIF. He could be my
number 1 guy, but if USNR he was gone. Stupid.
Only large group of people that I know that got out in the 12-14 year range
did so with large separation bonuses. Many of them had other plans and
thought the separation money and the new job could make up for the
retirement. I don't didn't work out so well for those that went to the
airlines. Others no idea.
