I kind that of know the feeling.  Both of the two Dell desktop PCs
currently used here don't have any COM ports!  You do realize how
frustrating that is for a Fidonet sysop, don't you?  Sort of like an
Irishman in a room full of shovels being told to 'take his pick'.  ;)

Ah, yes.  It is similar here.  Only my old P90 (old Fido PC), that's been
gathering dust over the last four years, has a HDD (3.5" I think). 
Most, if any, disk transfers are done with a USB stick now. Fortunately all
of the old machines (and new) are now VirtualBox versions of their old
hardware selves, and are networked through the Dells.
