BG>> US/Canada EPROM code, with their higher than legal -10db TX levels BG>> (and the fact that they also suffer from the Sportster's V.42bis BG>> problem tells me that the code is identical). AT> Higher as in -11 or as in -9?? I've seen a few reposts of connection stats AT> with -15db TX levels.. The sign is "-". The bigger the number, the lower the level. The legit max level is -10dbm. Using a S12 linecard, the actual optimal point is only about 1 db wide, and urgently needs to have the transmit level tuned to that point. Of course, we're forbidden to adjust the level - and manufacturer spread is about 6dbm, 3 plus and minus of the nominal. US modems can adjust up to -9, which doesn't work at all well. Depending on your copper length, somewhere between -10 and -12 is optimal. Too high a level produces clipping distortion, and wrecks the link well and truly.
