| subject: | Bluewave (what else) |
On or about 01-13-10 22:11, Nancy Backus allegedly uttered "Re: Bluewave (what else)" to Dallas Hinton: -=> Quoting Sean Dennis to Dallas Hinton on 12 Jan 10 00:02:38 <=- DH> So my question today is for Max BBS sysops under Windows XP -- could DH> someone please point me at the necessary patches? SD> Uh, well, I'm not quite sure about the Blue Wave door patch. Nancy's SD> husband did a hex edit of the 16-bit DOS BW door EXE for Telegard that SD> patched the problems there. I think you might be able to use Dale SD> Shipp's Y2K fix for the BW door (Dale?) for Maximus. NB> Dale's fix was only for the REP (reply) packets from QWK message NB> ... NB> Having said that, though, Maximus was the one software that I knew of NB> that seemed to have had a Y2K fix early on... whether that was done on NB> an individual basis, or whether there was in fact some sort of patch NB> just for the Maximus BW door, I don't know. And if there was, whether NB> or not, and where, it might be... ;) Most sysops tend to keep their QWK door open, and don't bother offering BWs. The BW reader is hobbled by the lack of a native door, but still quite functional with QWKs offering. (Inability to configure echo tags remotely, and perhaps matrix/netmail area weirdness...) I read twice about fixes. I'll see if my posting about that to my sysop still exists on his local area. PS: Forwarded message to follow. ...
