I can't keep cash in my pocket long enough to save it for gas. That's why
I went cashless, not to mention that bank pays me to use the Debit/Credit
Card. I get a check in the mail from my financial institution every
spring. That amounts to 10 cents per transaction, which at the end of the
year grows to a very tidy sum.

I spent nearly that amount yesterday. Like you, I don't like to let the
tank get too much lower than half a tank, but let it slip to 1/4 tank
after taking a trip to San Antonio. I usually put 10 gals in the tank and
with the price changes, that works out nicely. When the pump reached 10
gals yesterday, I wasn't paying attention and it went over about two
gallons, so I decided to put in 15 gallons. At $3.09/per, that came to
almost $50...used to fill up the 68 Camaro (in 1968) with that amount of
100 octane premium fuel, at just 36 cents/gal...What a deal!
